Dr. Rosie Isaac, school parent and local GP Registrar, has initiated a local aid response to the appalling conditions at the ‘unofficial’ refugee crisis at Grande-Synthe refugee camp in Dunkirk, France. Rosie, plus another doctor and now a paramedic and driven by ex-pupil George, will take a van with humanitarian aid, a documentary team and medical supplies on February 12th.
You can read detailed articles about it on our Facebook community page: search Grande Synthe Refugee Camp Dunkirk, or click visit https://www.facebook.com/refugeesGS?_rdr=p
Please support our brave team in taking their skills and goodwill to help these desperate human beings. Donations are still needed to buy such things as Strepsils, paracetamol and antibiotics. There are lots of respiratory ailments from living in the freezing mud with pitiful shelter and and skin problems due to squalid sanitary arrangements.
Can you help? You will find the JustGiving link on the Facebook page or you can contact Rosie at: drrosieisaac@gmail.com
Thanks to all respondents so far. And of course, blessings to Uma and Henrietta and their team who went out there on Tuesday.

Class 2 dad delivers aid to Calais refugees
By Sam Nelson
My husband, Theo Nelson (Class 2 parent), has this week delivered a donated caravan to the Calais refugee camp known as the ‘Jungle’. We are trying to help support Liz Gregg, a woman who has been living in the Jungle since the summer, providing support and shelter for 18 parentless boys aged from 10-15 years old. She desperately needs money and shelter for them and the young woman and children she is trying to care for.
The caravan we delivered is to be a new home for a young woman with two young children; her husband and her older child were killed on their way to Calais. The situation in the camp is changing daily but the need for safe shelter is paramount. We are hoping to raise enough money to take at least two more caravans to Liz in the near future.
Liz is one of those rare people who can stand to face the realities of this situation and does so without any support or acknowledgment. We would really like to try to support her work and so we have started a crowdfunding page: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/CalaisKids and a Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/caravansforcalaiskids where we hope to keep her needs updated and show where any donated money is being used.
Any size donation will help us. If you think you might be able to spare any money or if you know of a caravan, please get in touch. Any fundraising ideas would be good, too, as I am not exactly experienced in this field. Thank you very much.
